Tips for Personal Recovery from the 9.11 Tragedy &
for Getting Through the Recession

 1. Allow yourself to cry as often as you feel like it, wherever you are.

2. Go out of your way to help someone. It will help them, and you.

3. Give away stuff that you don't need to someone who needs it.

4. Make extra soup and take it to your neighbors.

5. Go stay at an ecologically hip bed & breakfast (just kidding!).

6. Shop at local resale and second hand shops.

7. Eat more popcorn, drink more water.

8. Take an excursion into Nature. Stay all day.

9. Do yoga. Find a someone and do a partner pose together.

10. Have potlucks.

11. Meditate, pray, sit in silence, alone and in groups.

12. Plant a tree, preferably somewhere that it will be nurtured and cared for.

13. Read a book with someone (or more) together, out loud.

14. Draw, dance, paint; don't worry about how it looks.

15. Have sing-alongs

16. Walk in the rain

17. Breathe deeply as often as you think of it.

18. Conserve resources, share resources, do with less. Be frugal. Save the Earth

19. Get a massage/give a massage.

20. Love each other.
