5-Day Yoga Retreat
June 26-30

Neahtawanta Inn--Traverse City

We are pleased to sponsor our third 5-day yoga retreat with Roger Eischens at the Neahtawanta Center. Roger comes from an Iyengar yoga background but adds his own unique perspective to create a week of learning, relaxation, challenge and fun. He is able to take each individual from their own starting point and help them develop a practice that fits their body and needs. The groups have consisted of people who have never done any yoga to yoga teachers with many years of experience. Roger creates an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and is challenged at their own pace. When not doing yoga, participants can swim, bike, walk, nap, read (Neahtawanta has an extensive library focusing on peace, the environment and personal growth), and sit on the beach. In the evenings we like to go on little field tripsÐto the woods or the dunes or the wetlands in our region to explore and experience nature. Vegetarian food is served (if you have special dietary needs you are welcome to bring the food you need). The retreat includes: all meals beginning with dinner on Sunday, June 25, and ending with brunch on Friday, June 30; yoga instruction; 5 nights lodging (optional). The non-lodging option includes brunch but not dinner. Dinner is available for $10.00; it's necessary that you let us know ahead of time.

Roger has practiced and taught yoga since 1968. He farms and works in service of the Earth and runs an organic farm and yoga retreat center near Madison, Wisconsin. Most of his study of the practices of Hatha yoga have been at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India. His philosophical leanings are towards early Taoism combined with Bioregionalism. He believes in an engaged spirituality of practice and teaching.
