WINTER SOLSTICE 1995 - Issue Number 34

News from the Center

We are in the midst of our annual fundraising effort, and wish to thank all of you who have already responded so generously.

The ongoing work of the Center includes: publishing " Synapse", quarterly; maintenance of our resource library containing many books and over 40 periodicals relating to issues of peace, the environment and personal growth; coordinating local activities such as Earth Day celebrations, Casa Materna, Hiroshima commemorations; working with the Northern Michigan Environmental Action Council's education committee to host meetings and forums on local issues and publish NMEAC's newsletter; a presence on the Board of Public Works and the Grand Traverse County Solid Waste Council; organizing through the global computer network; and sponsoring workshops on issues relating to spirituality, health, personal growth and sustainability .

We hope that you, our readers, will consider making a donation to help with this work. The Center is supported solely by memberships, donations, subscriptions and workshop fees. We take no salary for the work; your donation will help pay office overhead and printing and mailing costs. This year we are asking for an additional donation to help establish a "Rainbow Scholarship Fund", to be used by folks who do not have the resources to pay the full price for our workshops.

Many thanks for your support!

And remember . . . Neahtawanta Center is a 501 c(3) non-profit organization. All contributions that you make above the subscription fee are tax-deductible!
