HIV/AIDS Wellness Networks &emdash; 933-0279; hotline &endash; 947-1110; a volunteer AIDS service organization specializing in support for those infected or affected by the HIV AIDS virus, as well as prevention education, referral services and advocacy

Third Level Crisis Intervention Center &emdash; 1-800-442-7315 or (616) 922-4800; offering immediate crisis and counselling services serving 20 counties in northern Michigan; 24-hour telephone and walk-in clinic covering any area of concern; also individual and short-term counselling; and related services

Community Health Clinic &emdash; (616) 929-4448; offering low-cost health care for uninsured individuals, including medical care, marriage counselling, HIV/AIDS testing; pre-marital blood tests

Community Safety Initiative &emdash; a newly-formed volunteer group of concerned citizens representing a variety of backgrounds, professions and organizations which formed in response to several incidences of violence in the Traverse City area; focus is on education for prevention of violence, creating a network of concerned people and resources around issues relating to violence; helping to build strong communities and neighborhoods; helping to provide services to victims before arrest; for more information call Stacy Fine at (616) 929-4330.
