Community Peace Portrait
A visual representation of our community's solidarity for Peace
Was taken January 11, 2003 in Traverse City, Michigan
This photo will be used for an ad in the Record Eagle to run on January 18, 2003 (click here for a low res version of the ad) in solidarity with the demonstration against the U.S. Government's plans for further war against the people of Iraq in Washington DC. Voluntary donations for the ad were accepted after the portrait was taken. We raised almost enought money, but . . . if you can send a donation to the Neahtawanta Center, 1308 Neahtawanta Road, Traverse City, MI 49686 (make check to the Neahtawanta Center) to help make it possible to have a full page ad it would help.

A short video clip soon, check back.

After we cleared the stairs another group organized a "Community for War Portrait" click here for their portrait

A Banner: "We the People of Traverse City Michigan Say NO to War in Iraq" , that has been circulating the region for signatures, will accompany the portrait in the ad. The banner will also go with the 100 plus Traverse area people going on two buses to the major anti-war demonstration in Washington D.C.
